Macau, September 2010. Chelfing Automotive announces tie-up with SAIC to develop special one-off 300 MPH version of MG's forthcoming MG6 hatchback.

To celebrate this year's launch of the exciting new MG6 hatchback from MG cars, parent company SAIC have commissioned Chelfing Automotive to design and build a World-beating 300 MPH version of the MG6, designated the MG6-300-FTW. The designation stands for 'MG cars model 6 - 300MPH - Fastest (in) The World'.
Project leader Paul Gadd explains how the MG6-300-FTW will hit 300MPH ; "The chassis is essentially a standard MG6, a car already capable of 150MPH. The structure forwards of the A-pillar has been stretched to accommodate two engines and two sets of FWD drive trains. In essence, we have two 150MPH cars bolted together, 2 x 150MPH = 300MPH." The MG6-300-FTW has an unusual 6 wheel design, the rear two wheels being passive, the front 4 all driven, and the front 2 steering. The rest of the package is conventional MG6 and has a generous standard specification with the innovative options of Koala-skin seats and an integrated solar powered calculator with memory function.
If there is sufficient demand, MG will consider building* a limited edition production run of the MG6-400-FTW at it's iconic Longbridge plant, alongside the regular MG6 and MGTF models. Chelfing's CEO, Bisek Giddur, says "It is a great honour for us to be chosen to work with SAIC MG Cars on this exciting new project, it will showcase Chinese innovation and British build quality, and give customers the opportunity of owning a car capable of 300 MPH on public roads".

*Wheels put on in UK, cars actually assembled in Asia somewhere, like all the other CKD crap 'built' at Longbridge, confusing pensioners into thinking they're getting something British when they really should get that Kia with 150 year warranty instead, or a Peugeot if they're suffering from Alzheimers.
