The Chelfing Freewheeler ©
Chelfing Automotive are excited to announce the launch of an innovative new product designed to improve fuel consumption and reduce carbon emissions. 3 years of painstaking development results in the Freewheeler ©, harnessing the power of nature, giving you a retro-fit product compatible with all wheeled automobiles. This will be available in all good Auto parts retailers, and online from Chelfing direct, in the coming months. See below, fig a shows a common or garden Astra hatchback, figure b shows the same car with the Freewheeler fitted. Sold in pairs, the Freewheeler simple replaces the existing rear* roadwheels of your automobile.

So, it is very simple to use, and Chelfing quality is a given, so how does it work ? 3 years research and development coupled with Chelfing's history of bicycle construction and proven German 'Zahnrad' technology spawns the Freewheeler©. The diagram below shows how it works :

1-To harness gravity to achieve 'downhill' performance functionality, fit Freewheel to rear roadwheels of your automobile. The wheels are marked drivers side and passengers side. Failiure to fit correctly may result in your automobile only going backwards.
2-Inside the Freewheel is a patented 'Zahnrad' mechanism derived from German 'Fahrrad' system. This is simple, robust and of low-cost design. There are no user-serviceable parts.
3-The Zahnrad turns in one direction only, downhill, with bearing surfaces of a low-friction construction using Tungsten rollers ensuring minimal energy loss.
4-The Freewheeler Zahnrad lubricant core has a low friction conventional X-Y molecular structure similar to KY jelly and 'I can't believe its not Butter'. Designed for 10 million revolutions with no servicing.
FAQs :
"Will the Freewheeler invalidate my warranty ?" - Probably not. Please check with the Manufacturer of your Automobile. The Freewheeler will not invalidate the warranty of any Chelfing Automobile (Lunge, Prune, Me-tro, Razzle etc) in UK/US/Asia markets.
"Can a Woman fit the Freewheeler without supervision ?" - Yes. The Freewheeler only weighs c.80lb each. If it is raining, ensure you close the doors and wind up car windows so you do not get wet as she fits them.
"Will it make my Automobile go faster ?" - Yes, it has the same effect as always driving down a very steep hill.
"What finishes are available ?" - At first, we offer the stylish chrome plated finish above. We plan to offer other finishes such as plain steel, anodised, and woodchip at a later stage.
"My crazy woman drives too fast, what the hell can I do ?" - We have thought of this. Simply fir the Freewheeler to the front instead of the rear. This will have the effect of 'driving uphill', slowing the car and minimising likelyhood of crazy woman car crash. It may also reduce your insurance premiums too.
"What improvement in fuel consumption can I expect ?" - You will experience an improvement in fuel consumption equivalent to always driving down a big hill.
"How do I prevent theft of my Freewheelers ?" - Simple add a dab of superglue to the bolts.
The Chelfing Freewheeler is currently undergoing final testing and will be available from leading automotive spares retailers, kwik fit, other outlets, and Chelfing's online store very soon. For more information, email us at mail@chelfing.com with 'Freewheeler' in the subject line. We are particularly interested in hearing from potential customers, design students, OEM clients who wish to private label the Freewheeler, and Government sponsored quangos who blindly throw tax-payers money at anything considered vaguely 'green' in the deluded hope that will make their lentils taste better.
